Can Overuse of Antibiotics Cause Resistant Yeast Infections ?

By Luke Lister

Antibiotics are one of greatest discoveries of all time, however over use is causing many problems with resistance starting to occur.

To make matters worse, antibiotics do not distinguish between good and bad bacteria, and kill off all the helper bacteria in your body that naturally combats disease and infection. With a lowering immune system, and a more resistant bacteria or yeast, the problem gets worse with time.

We may benefit short term by destroying the current problem, but is it right to sacrifice the future for this short term gain.

Candida yeast cannot be completely destroyed by antibiotics, and becomes stronger with repeated use. If our body cannot naturally defend its self then the yeast can change into it's fungal form, and develop hooks that latch into our intestines causing pain and digestive problems.

When it latches into the intestinal wall it can simple spor into your blood stream and get passed around your body, and end up wherever it wants. Since it can now affect and infect all organs of your body you may notice a vast variety of symptoms, such as a skin problems, gas, bloating, sensitivity to smoke, perfume or petrol, as well an increase in other health problems or allergies.

Since your immune system is now stretched to the limit fighting these infections, you may see other illnesses manifest from the situation, like leaky gut syndrome or even cancer.

Unfortunately even avoiding antibiotics is rarely an option, sometimes we need them for more serious cases, but when we do really need them, be sure to take acidophilus and replace the good bacteria that is destroyed.

You may believe that you are not ingesting antibiotics, but are probably unaware that most meat is pumped with antibiotics to keep it healthy. While the levels are generally low, and not considered dangerous, long time consumption, keeps your immune system in a lowered state, and it does not take much to tip odds in the favour of the Candida yeast.

You can stop suppressing your immune system by converting to totally organic foods. But avoiding antibiotics all together is unlikely, so do your bit to stay healthy and keep your immune strengthened.

Avoid letting antibiotics be the root of all your problems, perhaps all you need is a little understanding so you can make better informed decisions.
