Regardless of whether you are simply a social drinker, a heavy drinker, or an alcoholic the time will come when you will either want or need to quit. This is a momentous decision and one that will change your life and I want to show you the best ways to keep your eye on the goal and stay away from the booze.

Money is often the cause of a drinking problem, which is just why alcoholism is on the rise at the moment so let's deal with the issue of money first. You may be used to a high standard of living and you may be faced with giving up something that you believe impossible to live without, and this is why you need reevaluate just what is important in life. Family unity, human contact, your daily bread etc and everything that is around us, but we just can't see it past the bottle. Downsizing your lifestyle is where it will all begin, but with just a bit of patience and self determination, life will seem as though you have literally been reborn.

The first morning after your decision to quit will be the worse than any hangover you have had. Depending on how much you regularly drink you may be going through detoxification and you might feel very sick, however this is very normal and plan on staying in bed until you feel like you can get up and face the world. Exercise will definitely help you begin to feel better. I would even recommend you get a pet as it will give you a reason to exercise as well as giving you a sense of responsibility.

I hope you will recognize that this is feasible. It won't be an easy path however each day free of alcohol is one day closer to a better life. Remember what is important in life and avoid falling into the high life trap that only leads back to alcohol and other addictions.

Become someone you like again and take this time to do some research using the internet and expand your horizons. When you beat this disease you will take each day as the blessing that it is. I know you can do this because I did and now I will do everything in my power to help people to stop drinking as I know it can be achieved in no time at all.
