Weight Loss-The Best Way To Get It

By Wan Mohd Hirwani Wan Hussain

Despite the rise in obesity and weight problems generally, increasing numbers of people nowadays are very conscious about their own health and fitness. Perhaps this is in part to those health magazine covers with men and women who have desirable, health and fit looking bodies. This desire is being catered for with an increase in ever type of health and fitness club imaginable and the sales of home fitness equipment is on the rise.

Increasingly we are being targeted at home as well with fitness and health product advertising and sponsorship found on TV. The way we eat and the types of food we consume also play a major role in our overall health and fitness so the two should really be emphasized as a joint effort. Staying fit is one part of the equation but by eating the right foods, our fitness levels will increase as will the body's ability to renew damages to muscle, cells and skin. The subject is broad and many different, often opposing, opinions are aimed at us and because of this it is often confusing deciding on which course of action to take like the high-carb versus the high-fat debate which seems to continue without being resolved.

What makes this confusing for the amateur is that one side says that you are better of eating foods high in fat when you exercise and the others state you need to eat foods that are a good source of carbohydrates. Those followers of eating foods with high carbohydrate content believe these are best owing to the amount of energy that can be stored in the muscles ready for instant release.

Fats, on the other hand, are well-known for being the richest source of calories and fat actually contains 2. The problem is deciding on which diet to follow but there is at least one thing experts agree on and that is you cannot follow both at the same time without gaining weight.

The main factor to consider is that if you are just following a diet and fitness lifestyle then the last thing you want is too add extra pounds of unwanted fat. Research shows that sustainable loss of weight can only be achieved on a diet which suits the individual food preferences, lifestyle and medical profile.

Diet programs all over can help you shed off excess pounds, but only one diet can help you stay sexy, and it is the one that satisfies you most but other important aspects of having a fit diet are moderation, balance and variation. Having made that point, it is only fair to say that as part of a healthy diet, certain vitamins and other nutrients essential for good health must still be taken if the body wants to remain strong.
