How To Cure A Yeast Infection

By Anne Lemmings

One disease that is very common disease among women is vaginitis. Vaginitis simply means as the inflammation of the vagina.

There are so many diseases that can classify as vaginitis and each one of them has a distinct cause. But basically, vaginitis occurs when harmful pathogens invade your private areas.

The most common form of vaginitis is yeast infections. Yeast infections are caused by the colonization of Candida albicans in ones vagina. Most women will get yeast infections at least one in their life. Usually people who have a compromised immune system will be more likely to develop yeast infections.

You must therefore keep the conditions of your vagina inhospitable for pathogens. To do this, you have to make sure that your normal flora is of sufficient number to counter any pathogen that decides to colonize the area. Vaginas are acidic for this reason. However, vaginal contraceptives and feminine washes can increase your chances of developing yeast infections.

The only consolation that you have upon knowing that you have a yeast infection is the fact that it isnt a sexually transmitted disease. There are several signs and symptoms that you will encounter with the disease. First, you are going to feel an itching to burning sensation in your vagina, accompanied by your vulva becoming swollen and having a white vaginal discharge.

A pill isnt necessary to treat a yeast infection. In fact, all that you have to do is to pick out a natural cure for yeast infection. Yogurt is a wonderful food that will help you against yeast infections. Yogurt contains Bacillus acidophilus that destroys the yeast in your vagina.

But if you want to stay away from yeast infections even before you encounter them you can always dab a little dilute cider vinegar on your genitalia. Or have some olive lead and grapefruit seed extract drinks.

If that is too much, you can just drink olive leaf and grapefruit seed extract or even cranberry juice.
