How to Get Rid of Nail Fungus

By Anna Latrobe

Nail Fungus is an unpleasant condition to cope with, especially considering that it can effect your nails on your toes and your fingers. The condition is caught by the fungi getting underneath your nail bed through a small crack or cut in the skin close to your nails.

Once you have caught the fungi the nail starts to discolor, the shine of the nail disappears and the surface becomes rough, the edges of your nail start to crumble and eventually the nail loosens from the nail bed.

The great news is that there are numerous options you can select to treat this condition, and you should do so as soon as possible, as it is important not to disregard this fungal infection as it will worsen if left untreated and it will proliferate, as it feeds on your nails and skin.

There are people who try to cure their nail fungus by taking off their entire nail, which will only offer a short term solution because when the nail regrows it will grow with the infection. Another important factor to consider is that when you have this condition you are putting others at risk, and risking it spreading to other parts of your body. Obviously the consequences of this are that you should find a way to treat the fungus infection before you cause it to spread.

When you treat nail fungus you can either use topical or oral treatment, but the problem with conventional medication is that it can take from 6 to 12 weeks before you see the desired result.

A physician may suggest that you get rid of the infected nail, or for several people they might advise you to use a sort of laser treatment called photodynamic therapy.

The forms of treatment I have already mentioned are sometimes effective, but there is a problem with them because they do not always kill the fungus, and they stop the symptoms not the root cause of the condition. Consequently you need to treat the fungus with a natural product that; firstly goes to the root cause of the problem, kills the fungus, increases your body's natural anti-inflammatory capabilities, improves your immune system and does not give you any bad side effects.

Treating Nail fungus can be done naturally in order to avoid any damaging side effects. Using natural oils that have healing properties, such as Tea Tree oil, is a great to treat nail fungus and when used with other natural ingredients allows you to fight nail fungus without conventional medication.
